It’s 900 years into the past, and everywhere, demons are running amok, causing chaos, destruction, and killings every which way. You, playing as a meek, reluctant, yet noble Kiyoshi Ryutatsu, find yourself protecting the Japanese village that’s been terrorized by animalistic-like creatures that only desire to harm, using a magic sword gifted to you by an all-knowing Ruby who desires to protect this very village.

And yet… One day, you find yourself being surprised by a talking tanuki who seems to match the description of a demon. Yet when you threaten to kill him, he seems defenseless and terrified. Would you abandon the wild dog, or take him in as your companion? And if you proceed with the latter, just how strong will the consequences be for betraying your precious, adoring fans and citizens of Furano?
